A YOUNG girl from Llangynog is just days away from achieving a lifetime ambition - being able to walk.

Evie-Lou Harrington will fly out to America next month for a specialist operation that will give her the movement in her legs she has longed for.

The five-year-old was born with Cerebral Palsy which has left her wheelchair bound during her short life.

But thanks to local fundraising efforts and the creation of the ‘Evie’s Dream’ charity, £40,000 has been raised to make her life-changing trip to the States a reality.

Ahead of their flight to St Louis, Evie’s mother, Donna, told the Advertizer: “It is finally becoming a reality. I am really looking forward to seeing Evie walk – she will be able to do some walking straight away.
“The support locally has been brilliant and we want to thank everyone who has helped us to raise this amount,” she added.

Evie, who is currently building up her strength ahead of the procedure, said she was feeling nervous, but looking forward to walking and playing with her sisters.
