A WESTON Rhyn couple have hit the jackpot after become one of 25 lucky New Year’s lottery millionaires.

Sue and James Schofield had the perfect start to 2013 discovering their win on the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw as midnight struck.

As the news sunk in yesterday the couple from Rhoswiel said they were still “overwhelmed.”

“You never expect to win,” said Sue, 47, “It will change our lives. It’s like nothing you have ever thought of. The realisation that all you have dreamt of you can plan – it’s a surreal feeling.”

“It’s disbelief,” continued 37-year-old James, who regularly jokes that they have won, “We checked it online and then phoned up a couple of times to make sure.”
Sue added: “I take no notice of him, but he was saying it was real and bouncing up and down on the bed!”

James had bought the ticket from Morrisons in Wrexham, but said he usually makes the regular lucky dip purchase in Conwy on his delivery driver rounds.
Having hardly slept, both were quick to hand in their notices the following morning to make their dreams of setting up a Shropshire-based boarding facility for cats and exotic animals a reality.

“I thought there was a chance it could be wrong,” continued James, “I wanted to speak to someone straight away but no-one was working at that time. I handed my notice in not entirely sure.”
