TWO Denbigh swimmers have struck gold at a national event.

Denbigh Dragon Swim Club members Lois Jones and Harry Brown enjoyed plenty of success when they competed at the recent British Gas Swim Wales winter meet, which was held in Swansea.

Twelve-year-old Harry entered six events in the boys’ 11 and 12 years category, with fantastic results.

He gained five golds - in the 50m, 200m and 400m freestyle events, as well as in the 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly.

In addition, Harry also claimed silver in the 1500m freestyle race.

Meanwhile, Lois, also aged 12, competed in the girls’ 12 and 13 years section.

She sliced a stunning 18 seconds off her personal best to claim gold in the 200m breaststroke and she also secured a silver medal in the 200m freestyle.

Lois had placings in the 400m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle and 800m freestyle, with big personal bests achieved in every event, including taking a massive 18 seconds off her 400m freestyle record.
