AN INVESTIGATION is underway into the death of an Oswestry man whose body was found at Llanymynech quarry over the weekend.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the 57-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was discovered on Saturday, and that police are now trying to piece together events leading up to his death.

They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward although they do not believe the death to be suspicious.

Detective Chief Inspector, Greg Williams, said: “The body was found on Saturday, but we don’t yet know exactly when he died and our inquiries continue to investigate his movements over the weekend.
“There is nothing at this stage to indicate any suspicious circumstances,” he added.

The coroner has been informed and police are urging anyone with information to call Welshpool Police Station on the non-emergency telephone number, 101.
