THE Oswestry Eagles Rugby Club has announced that it is on the lookout for a specialist scrum-half as its teams gear-up for an assault on their respective league tables after a disappointing campaign last season.
Club chairman, Steve Charmley, said the Eagles have already begun their pre-season training as the first team looks for an immediate return to the South Lancs and Cheshire Division One after suffering relegation following an injury-ravaged campaign last time out.
But after retaining the services of their vocal South Wales-born coach, Scott Sturdy, he is confident the Eagles can stop their downfall as they also look to enter an Under 17s team into the Northern League for the first time.
"We are starting the season with a clear slate and we are sending out a special plea for a scrum-half," he said.
"We are desperate for a fully qualified player who knows this position well and we believe the right man could prove vital to success this season.
"We are also looking for players to compete for the Under 17s side entering the Raging Bull Northern League this season, and training for them will begin on August 3," he added.
