PICTURES: Hundreds march against Oswestry supermarket plans

MORE than 350 people joined a march to oppose plans for a new supermarket in Oswestry at the weekend.

The protestors, including residents and a coalition of local organisations opposing the multi-million pound proposals waved banners as they marched around Oswestry.

    The planners should stick to the requirements of planning law and ignore the pressure to bow to emotional blackmail regarding jobs in Oswestry. There is a lot of misinformation being put out about this. There is no connection between the success or failure of the Tesco/Burbidge bid and potential job losses at Burbidge - as most of the workers there understand very well.
