A VALENTINE’S Ball which was cancelled after the death of Oswestry teenager Frankie McFall has been rescheduled, and will now be held in her honour.

Eighteen-year-old Frankie had commented on her excitement at plans to go to the Oswestry School Valentine’s Ball at the Walls Restaurant, Oswestry with friend Max Payne on social networking website Facebook, just hours before police found her dead.

In anticipation of the ball, which was to be held on the Friday evening, Frankie wrote on the website: “Buzzing for the V’ball with my date Max Payne.”

A spokesman for Oswestry School last week announced a new date for the ball, and said: “The Valentine’s Ball has been rescheduled for March 19. It will take place at The Walls with money raised going to a charity which provides medical aid in Nepal - this is something in which Frankie intended to work during her gap year.”

Described by the school as a popular and academically successful student, Frankie hoped to continue her studies to become a forensic scientist.
