A bygone era returned to Trefonen at the weekend as the village hosted a Victorian Fete.
The sun was shining as ‘Queen Vicky’ herself greeted residents and visitors, who were entertained with some classic activities including Punch and Judy, a carousel, big wheel and children’s rides.
There was also a WI sweet stall, while the garden club had a herb stall.
And there was plenty of entertainment with costumed re-enactors, the Porthywaen Silver Band and refreshments – including a hog roast.
On Friday, primary school pupils experienced Victorian life as the village hall was converted into a parlour from the upper classes, a living room from the working classes, a schoolroom, a hospital ward and a shoe shop.
