THE FORMER frontman of John Squire's post-Stone Roses venture, The Seahorses, will play at Oswestry's Ironworks next Friday.

Chris Helme will appear live for an acoustic set of his new material and possibly some old Seahorses hits; such as 'Love is the Law'.

Now a soloist, Chris was rumoured to have been spotted busking in a busy high street by former Stone Roses Guitarist John Squire.

John asked Chris to front his new Band The Seahorses and they went on
to create a number one selling album and four top-twenty hits including "Blinded by the Sun" which reached number seven and the superb "love is the law" which reached number two.

After appearing at festivals nationwide alongside massive acts such as
U2, Oasis, the act decided to call it as day and went their separate ways.

2008 sees the culmination of over ten years in the music industry for Chris, and his solo album 'Ashes' is a truly emotional yet foot tapping account of life and music.

Chris Helme comes to the Ironworks on Friday June 27, £4 entry, with support from Ed Crowley.
