A wine tasting evening in North Wales will be the latest in a series of fundraising events which have raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the Conwy Valley is hosting the event between 5pm and 8.30pm on Friday, November 17, and people can book their place now, with proceeds from the evening going to help Ty Gobaith Children's Hospice.
Kerry Sidney, Bodnant marketing manager, said entry to the event was £5 which would be donated to the hospice and hoped as many people as possible would attend. "Our wine tasting evenings are always very popular and the money we raise goes to such a worthwhile cause - our charity of choice, Ty Gobaith," she said. "The work they do is amazing but funding is always an issue and it is our pleasure to be able to help out with various events that goes part of the way to helping the hospice carry on the good work."
Wine tasting events at Bodnant regularly raise around £700 and next month's fundraiser will see visitors being able to try 50 wines for their £5 entrance fee.
The Winter Wine Tasting will be presented by Chris and Rich from the Bodnant Wine Cellar - which is regularly stocked with more than 400 wines. Experts from Bodnant and other local producers will be on hand to offer advice to visitors.
"Our mission at Bodnant is to champion the food and drink industry and this is an ideal opportunity for people to come along and sample the very best of local wine," added Kerry. "Visitors also find it useful to learn first-hand about what to look for in a wine and what would suit their tastes. It is also a great chance to help a local charity."
